Hiking in the mountains
Here in the Kitzbühel Alps you will find a hiking paradise that could not be more diverse: Idyllic side valleys, gentle grassy mountains and rugged mountain ranges. The choice of tours is large, can be combined at will and is rich in scenic attractions. Over 700 km of marked hiking trails lead you safely through one of the most beautiful regions of Tyrol.

Valid in all towns of the Wilder Kaiser-Brixental holiday region: Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kelchsau, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf.
Tyrolean Eagle Path
The eagle has been a native animal in Tyrol for centuries; it stands for freedom, power and vastness. The route of the Adlerweg, the new main hiking trail across Tyrol, symbolises a proud eagle spreading its "wings" over the land. The hiker moves on its wings.
The Eagle Trail, whose course on the map resembles the Tyrolean heraldic animal, invites you to start hiking the Tyrol at a point of your choice. The best way is piece by piece. For this purpose, each stage offers the possibility to get on or off the trail crosswise. The Adlerweg is the main hiking trail through the whole of Tyrol. Uniformly signposted, well marked and described in detail, it leads right into the heart of nature. Along the main route alone, whose course resembles an eagle with outstretched wings, you can cover around 23,000 metres of ascent in 31 stages.
Exciting routes also lead through the Kitzbühel, Zillertal and Tux Alps. In addition, there is an "Eagle's Cub" in East Tyrol. The main route runs from St. Johann in the Tyrolean Unterland, first along the walls of the Wilder Kaiser, then through the Brandenberg Alps, through the Rofan and Karwendel Mountains, through the Lechtal Alps and finally to St. Anton am Arlberg.
In East Tyrol, the "eagle cub" spreads its wings above the Hohe Tauern National Park region in the Virgental and Kalsertal valleys. The Eagle Trail is uniformly marked with the eagle symbol. A few sections are reserved for experienced alpinists, the vast majority are designed for pleasure hikers. In East Tyrol, there are designated variants for mountaineers in both the Virgen Valley and the Kals Valley.
Each stage contains special attractions, experiences and highlights. These create an arc of excitement for the hiker, who is to be brought closer to the countless special features along the route so that they can experience them with all their senses. Hiking in the magnificent Tyrolean mountains - this does not only stand for an incomparable nature experience. That is why the Adlerweg also attaches importance to topics such as culture and history. Hiking under these conditions means a holistic experience.
